4 Homemade Hair Packs To Reduce Your Oily Scalp

In our last post, we talked about natural remedies for dandruff (you can check that our here), but what if you’ve got the opposite problem? An oily scalp? An oily scalp is the result of excessive oil secretion due to hormonal imbalances or other health issues. It is essential to reduce oily scalp before it is too late and damages hair. Our homemade hair packs are completely natural and help in reducing oily scalp problems in a short time.

Corn flour is good in absorbing excessive oil from the scalp. It keeps the scalp clean. Tea tree oil is known for its anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties which help in controlling excessive oil secretion. To prepare the pack, you need two tablespoons of corn flour and at least 10 drops of tea tree oil. Mix to have a smooth paste. Apply on your hair and let it remain for 20 minutes. Rinse later.

2) Tomato Pack:

To prepare the pack, you need two fresh tomatoes and smash them well to have a smooth paste. Once you have a smooth paste and without any lumps, apply it directly on your scalp. Let it remain for one hour and rinse using cold water. Use the pack thrice a week to reduce the problem of oily scalp.

3) Lemon and Orange Pack:lemon-treatment

This is another easy to prepare, pack for oily scalp. You will need two lemons and peels of one orange. Prepare a paste with the peels and lemon juice. Apply this pack on your scalp and massage gently. Let the pack remain for twenty minutes and then rinse using normal water. This pack helps in maintaining a normal pH level of the skin and boosts scalp health.

Baking soda is a wonder ingredient and helps in nourishing the hair from within while reducing the excessive oil secretion. For this pack, mix one tablespoon of baking soda and an equal quantity of rose water. Mix well and apply this pack on your scalp. Massage gently. Let the pack remain for thirty minutes and then rinse off. This pack is quite effective in controlling excessive oily scalp and keeps the scalp clean.
